Ostara Circles - what to expect

The circles are small groups of up to 12 women. We are aware that many of us have become more introverted over time and are uncertain about attending new places and events, to respond to this the number of women is maintained at a low number.

We have yoga mats and chairs as well as blankets so that you can be comfortable, and we begin the circle with a guided relaxation to bring calm and still the busy mind.

The conversation which follows is guided, though as time passes and the community strengthens, we anticipate we will facilitate less and conversation will naturally unfold. Until this happens we introduce a reading, a quote, or a reflection on current ideas (nothing too political though) to start the therapeutic conversation.

We talk about our social roles, our path to us being the women we are today, our roots and support systems, our losses and our wins throughout life. We consider our influences and the traditions passed on by our mothers and grandmothers, sisters, friends, and teachers. We consider how we choose confidantes and if that serves us now, and how we have transformed due to marriage, motherhood, divorce, loss. The topics are endless and will be governed by the group.

We know that life is noisy and can be chaotic at the moment, and we wish to provide an oasis from this. We know it can be difficult to pause on cue; to assist where reflecting can be challenging we have oracle cards. The purpose is not for fortune telling; these are images which may prompt further and deeper thoughts or emotional expression to share with the group should you wish for this.

We learn, we laugh, we reflect.

Following the conversation we prepare for returning to the outside world with guided, gentle vagus nerve calming techniques. These are soothing self-massage techniques at the key points on the body which can encourage the body to let go of tension.

There is more to menopause than hot-sweats. We go through changes on so many different levels. It isn't all bad though - some of the changes are truly liberating. Gathering on chairs and around a table with a cuppa on the last Mondays of the month. The circle for midlife women.

The evening circles at Sussex Pavilion are open to all women. These circles are small with up to twelve women joining the circle. This is an evening of relaxation and conversation with likeminded women.

The Rooted Hearth Circle

Join a close knit circle where women come together to share the wisdom they’ve gathered so far—and the insights still unfolding on their path ahead. Aligned with the rhythm of the seasons, designed to deeply support and empower women through every phase of the year. This is nourishing moment of tea, soulful conversation, and genuine connection with other mid‑life women walking a similar path.

Unlike the Ostara Circle, we will come together in a smaller group and sit on chairs rather than laying on mats. We will drink tea or cordial and we will  support each other in the way women have always done.

March Circle
